Shiatsu workshop @ Meridians
A one-on-one workshop for the basic theory and practice of Zen Shiatsu. It includes 16 hours, or two and a half days, of teaching and guided practice, to introduce the basic concepts and techniques of Zen Shiatsu and to teach a one-hour full body Shiatsu routine. (An extra 10 hours of home assignment is required to complete within three months after the workshop for the issue of certificate.)
This is a basic introductory course. No massage or energy work background is required. Learning shiatsu takes a good deal of practice, the participant should therefore be highly motivated to practice and study outside training hours.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- List and describe the basic concepts of Shiatsu, such as Kyo, Jitsu, Hara, Tsubo, etc.;
- Contrast Yin and Yang and apply the theory to your Shiatsu practice;
- Apply pressure correctly and move Ki in the energy pathways;
- Perform a one-hour Zen Shiatsu session;
- Practise related exercises, including breathing and meridian stretching.
