Shiatsu workshop @ Meridians

A one-on-one workshop for the basic theory and practice of Zen Shiatsu. It includes 16 hours, or two and a half days, of teaching and guided practice, to introduce the basic concepts and techniques of Zen Shiatsu and to teach a one-hour full body Shiatsu routine. (An extra 10 hours of home assignment is required to complete within three months after the workshop for the issue of certificate.)

Entrance Requirements

This is a basic introductory course. No massage or energy work background is required. Learning shiatsu takes a good deal of practice, the participant should therefore be highly motivated to practice and study outside training hours.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop you will be able to:

  • List and describe the basic concepts of Shiatsu, such as Kyo, Jitsu, Hara, Tsubo, etc.;
  • Contrast Yin and Yang and apply the theory to your Shiatsu practice;
  • Apply pressure correctly and move Ki in the energy pathways;
  • Perform a one-hour Zen Shiatsu session;
  • Practise related exercises, including breathing and meridian stretching.
